07/2009 Unite for Sight Volunteer in Ghana, Africa -Worked with a local clinic to provide outreach eye clinics in rural villages in Ghana in order to provide treatment of cataracts and other eye diseases in areas with poor access to health care
02/2012 Child Family Health International Urban and Rural Comparative Health program in Quito and Chone, Ecuador -Shadowed physicians in various maternal and pediatric healthcare settings in both rural and urban settings -Daily Spanish classes
04/2014 University of Utah, Shree A. Patel Chhotubhai Hospital and Community Health Center in Mota Fofalia, Gujarat, India Global Health Elective in Gujarat, India -Spent one month teaching newborn resuscitation to workers in a hospital in rural India using Helping Babies Breathe curriculum -Performed weight and malnutrition screening for nearby villages in order to identify at-risk infants and children and helping to arrange either inpatient malnutrition treatment or outpatient follow-up -Performed observational research of newborn resuscitation methods at a nearby rural hospital
