Title:
Oncology providers (MD, APP, RN) were surveyed on the need for a hospice plan of care,; knowledge and comfort of managing hospice patient’s pain and symptoms was assessed, and providers rated the quality of the tool. A Hand off Plan of Care was developed for Home Hospice patients and lives under “followed by palliative care” in the Problem List for oncology home hospice patients. (Joint effort with writer and Carrie Hecox APN student)

Resident
2023 - 2024 Palliative care APPs are developing a standard APP student educational Program
APP to be become a Pediatric ELNEC trainer. Together this new Trainer and writer will provide RN staff Forums that nursing leadership has deemed Mandatory for all HOT unit inpatient nurses to attend.
 
Research Programs
Participating in an Interdisciplinary Research team project about Palliative care and pediatric BMT Patients in collaboration with Medical College of WI, UW Milwaukee and Marquette University.
Database on new oncology consults initiated. Developed automatic palliative care consult triggers based on oncology/BMT disease
QI project on Hand off Plan of care for home hospice oncology/BMT patients
 
Clinical Programs
07/2011 Standardized Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Inpatient and Outpatient Alternative Code Status Plan of Care Policy and Order Set. Policy presented, reviewed and approved by designated committees
09/2014 - 12/2014 Collaborated with Licensed Massage Therapist in development of a pediatric massage therapy program for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin
2017 - 2020 The Cancer and Blood Disorders Department received a 3 year Northwestern Mutual Grant to fund one APP provider to develop a palliative care program specific to patients in this area.
- 2021 Northwestern Mutual has extended their Grant funding to support an embedded APP in the MACC Fund service line for another 5 years providing QOL and Palliative care to patients and families. (2021)
