2017 - Present Sarcoma Foundation of America: Physician representative for MCW with the Sarcoma Foundation
of America (SFA) and involved in many volunteer initiatives:
1. Race to Cure Sarcoma Run/Walk Volunteer Committee: Volunteer and physician lead on the annual run/walk committee, which coordinates a large event hosting over 400 participants each year. Duties include raising funds and coordinating pre and race-day responsibilities such as securing food, water, and supplies.
2. Race to Cure Sarcoma Guest Speaker: Kick-off speaker at numerous run/walk events in the greater Milwaukee area as representative for patients, families and loved ones, with the goal to raise awareness
3. Sarcoma Foundation of America Expert Panel: Guest speaker on national community panels for those affected by sarcoma.
4. Race for your Reason: SFA and MCW representative which is a unique 5K that highlights 5 charities/causes each year. SFA has been involved since 2019.

2018 - Present Stronger than Sarcoma: CEO & Co-founder of non-for profit (through ppf.org) which supports sarcoma patients through funds raised for research at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Each year, in-person and virtual events have raised >$350,000 for sarcoma research:
1. Stronger than Sarcoma Soiree: Formal cocktail & casino night event that has led to >$300,000 raised
2. Sips for Sarcoma: Annual cocktail event held for sarcoma research, expanding outside of Milwaukee to incorporate the Chicago sarcoma community.
3. Sarcoma Baking Team: Coordinate and volunteer at annual bake-sale and bake-offs with proceeds given to a non-for-profit organization supporting involved in sarcoma care or research.

Awarded this honor because of work in the community and continue to serve on behalf of the MBJ 40 under 40 alumni. |

2013 - Present Radiation Oncology Biostatistics Course Co-Director: As co-director of the statistics course, I helped create a curriculum to immerse residents in skills needed to critically review literature while introducing study design concepts for future research and protocol development. This was performed through course assignments, faculty lectures for medical and physics residents, as well as invitations from nationally known biostatisticians who provided overview of real-life implications. |
2017 - Present MCW Cancer Center Sarcoma Program Chair: As program chair, I have been integrally involved in improving patient care, access and escalating the profile of the sarcoma team to national and international levels. Our volumes have steadily increased, and turnaround times are tied for the shortest of all programs within MCW. In addition, the advanced technology and innovative methods of management including outpatient chemotherapy and minimally invasive treatments for bone and soft tissue pathologies have led to recognition as one of the premier programs in the nation.

2018 - Present Stronger than Sarcoma Chair & Co-founder: As Chair & Co-founder, we have created an organization to increase awareness and research funds for sarcoma. Stronger than Sarcoma has raised over $75k in sponsorships including two grateful patient donations of more than $400k by developing communication materials. |
2020 - Present Radiation Oncology Clinical Trials Program Associate Director: As Associate Director, I assist in overseeing budget and operations for Radiation Oncology Clinical Trials Program (ROCKET) and provide statistical expertise for implementing new approaches. I have ensured efficient and valid study designs for successful submissions to Scientific Review Committee and established a decision framework to satisfy protocol-specific needs by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. |
2021 - Present Osteo-Oncology Program Co-Lead: Metastatic bone disease is evolving, and it is estimated that 70% of cancer patients will require care for disease that has affected the skeletal system. As one of 3 osteo-oncology programs in the country, I and other members have led efforts to streamline care and meet the demands for patients who have been affected through a consolidated program within the MCW Cancer Center. This has involved the development of smart application tools within EPIC and other modes of technology to decrease turn-around times and improve patient care. |
2021 - Present Sarcoma Survivorship Program Director: As our patient volumes and survival have increased, it is imperative to evolve with the needs of our patients as they transition into long-term survivors. The survivorship program allows for patients to transition care to a mid-level provider clinic which provides customized care related to their prior cancer therapies. This care is coordinated with primary care physicians within the greater Milwaukee area and beyond. |
