Description
A cellular transcriptional coactivator that contains N-terminal KELCH REPEATS and N- and C-terminal FIBRONECTIN TYPE III DOMAINS. It functions as a transcription factor for a number of genes and in the assembly of IMMEDIATE-EARLY PROTEINS of the HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS. Mutations in the HCFC1 gene are associated with cases of X-LINKED MENTAL RETARDATION.Search for this term in our Faculty Database
