Integrating advocates within a healthcare setting to strengthen intimate partner violence screening

Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin (AHW)

Co-investigator; worked with research team from MCW, Marquette, UW-Madison, and Sojourner Family Peace Center to investigate effectiveness of identifying patients who are screened for intimate partner violence (IPV) by training medical professionals to screen for IPV compared to use of trained IPV advocates embedded in the clinic to screen patients. Site for research project was OB-Gyn clinic at MCW-Froedtert.

2020 - Present Developed a rural track expansion of child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship program to northeast Wisconsin Medical College of Wisconsin. This expansion is to address the critical shortage of child psychiatrists in rural parts of the stateI. This extension of training is targeted to northeast WI will both increase/improve access and expand the workforce of child psychiatrists in northeast WI.
