Medical Student Education
2008 A twelve-session, second-year medical student class at the Medical College of WI focused on techniques of interviewing using didactics, text, and live patient work.
2009 This eight session, first-year medical student class at the Medical College of WI focused on teaching clinical cases using a problem based learning format.

Resident and Fellow Education
2009 - 2010 Second-year residents presented a taped intake interview to their classmates during this year-long, weekly course. As chief resident I was responsible for guiding a discussion of technique, pathology and treatment.
2013 - 2019 Transition to Practice. An 11 session course targeted primarily at senior residents. Responsibilities include coordinating speakers and providing lectures on various topics.
 

EXTRAMURAL TEACHING:
Medical Student Education
2010 - 2011 University of California-Davis, This thirteen session, second-year medical student class at the UC-Davis Medical School emphasizes interviewing, ethics, and comprehensive history and physical exam skills via both standardized patient interviews and a small group discussion.
 
Resident and Fellow Education
2010 - 2011 University of California-Davis, Psychosomatic Journal Club. Trainees present topics drawn from current literature during this weekly course. As the fellow I was responsible for guiding discussion, teaching critical review skills, and vetting articles.

2013 A suicidality screening tool to be used in the Community Memorial Hospital Emergancy Department to determine the appropriate level of safety protocols and supervision to use for depressed patients
2013 - Present Clinical Education and Training of an APNP at the Community Memorial Mental Health Unit. Three nurse practitioners have trained with us thus far, all still working within the organization.
10/2014 - 04/2015 Telepsychiatry pilot program: inpatient consults at St. Joseph's West Bend
2017 - Present Overhaul of the inpatient psychiatry role to a hospitalist model approach; our two current psychiatrists are currently using this new model.

QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS:
2009 - 2010 Metabolic Monitoring for Atypical Antipsychotics. Primary investigator. An EMR template was developed and implemented to increase monitoring rates of patient's blood glucose and cholesterol levels in an 8 trainee, 350 patient clinic.
05/01/2019 - 07/01/2019 Survey of Family Medicine and Hospitalist physicians at Community Memorial Hospital regarding the quality of, and satisfaction with, the psychiatric consult liaison service.
