Date

06/16/2015

Abstract

Advances in technology offer opportunities for

healthcare providers and researchers to enhance

existing data collection methods and to develop new

approaches for data collection and symptom measurement

in the clinical setting. This column

describes the use of an iPad as an innovative data

collection tool for research in two current studies

involving children and adolescents with cancer. The

column also will present a discussion of practical

considerations for the researcher in relation to the

use of an iPad.
